Figure Drawing: Anatomy & Construction
Weekly Class – Saturdays, 1:30 – 4:30 p.m.
This class develops strong skills by combining anatomy lectures with life drawing exercises. Students learn key structures of the body and analyze the visible forms they create.
Exercises include analytical sketches and studies of the bones and muscles as they appear in the pose. The studies serve as a foundation for a more naturalistic articulation of the figure.
Class exercise examples:
This class is on-going, with no start/end date. Students can join at any time.
The material is broken into 10 modules. Lectures and assignments are adjusted to the needs of individual students.
Students go through the modules at their own pace. They can choose to go through all of them in sequence, or focus on specific areas of the body.
- Comprehensive handouts;
- Individually assigned and reviewed homework for each student;
- Email support between classes.
All ages and levels of experience are welcome. Students under 18 years of age will need to provide a parental consent form.
